The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Systems Development and Support Office (SDSO) is seeking a Junior Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) to join its team.

The Junior Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Office 365 solutions, systems, and infrastructure. The Junior Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) works with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and provide reliable and comprehensive solutions.

The ideal candidate has excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment; and adeptness in working with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Operating, maintaining, and adopting Microsoft's cloud solutions.
  2. Supporting and maintaining Microsoft Office 365's ecosystem from both the end user's and management's perspectives.
  3. Overseeing the adoption of Microsoft's evergreen ecosystem.
  4. Establishing security protocols encompassing vital areas Microsoft Office 365.
  5. Assessing existing systems and maximizing quality and customer satisfaction, while minimizing operational issues.
  6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve solutions that satisfy business needs, goals, and objectives.
  7. Working alongside other engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices to projects and the overall environment.

Qualifications

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in both the following:

  • Experience in support Exchange Online
  • Experience in using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), CSOM, REST API services, and PowerShell
  • Experience with Azure AD, Active Directory, DNS and network architecture, and security architecture
  • Experience in software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum, source control, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or with a team in a dynamic environment. - Adeptness in working with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.
Desired, but not required:
  • Applicants with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field are highly desired.
  • General experience with VDI solutions (primarily VMWare) and roaming profiles.
  • Familiarity with additional cloud products (primarily Adobe's cloud services).
