Duties

Help

As a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-13, you will serve as the principal advisor to the Wing Commander and Director of Advanced Programs on the latest industry and technological projections as they pertain to SAP Cyber Security/Information Security for the network enclave infrastructure. Duties may include oversight and accreditation of all systems IAW with all NGB, Air Force, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures. Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to ensure acquisition, development, and retention of a professional, highly capable SAP cybersecurity workforce to accomplish assigned missions. Establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance. Reviews and recommends approval of candidates for selections, promotions and recognition. Reviews and approves work plans to be accomplished by subordinates; priorities and schedules for completion of work; sets broad objectives; monitors subordinate employees' performance in providing IT services; reviews accomplishments; and takes appropriate action of correction when deficiencies are noted. ISSM responsibilities include Implementation of the RMF. Maintain and report IS and IT systems assessment and authorization status and issues in accordance with DoD Component guidance, monitor compliance with cybersecurity policy, as appropriate, and review the results of such monitoring, act as the primary cybersecurity technical advisor to the Information System Owner (ISO) for DoD IS and IT systems under their purview. Collaborates with other supervisors and managers within the Wing and command to negotiate, decide on, or coordinate work-related changes affecting their operations. Participate in command and Wing initiatives developing strategic plans for enhancement of the system environment, developing functional and technical requirements for acquisitions, conducting cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and related activities.

  • Incumbent must possess or be able to acquire the appropriate level security clearance for this position
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Or May be required to successfully complete a Supervisory trial period.
  • Enrollment in Direct Deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility within 6 months of employment.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance prior to appointment.
  • Must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Technician (IAT-II) within 6 months or less of appointment to this position.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to current on-board (Tenure 1, 2 and 3) US Federal employees interested in helping the Department of the Air Force meet our mission requirements as a Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC).

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation.

NOTES:

1. Must have a SECRET clearance prior to appointment and the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility within 6 months of employment.

2. Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Technician (IAT-II) within 6 months or less of appointment to this position.

3. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.

4. May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.

5. Overtime and/or emergency overtime may be required.

SPECILAIZED EXPERIENCE GS13: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-12 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience includes experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion; experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
