Help
  • Serves as Audio-Visual Information Systems Design, Engineering and Programming Subject Matter Expert for NDU on Audio Visual and Video Telecommunications systems.
  • Responsible for establishing and managing the NDU Audio-Visual Systems Scheduled Preventative Maintenance Program that maintains audio/visual systems and associated subsystems.
  • Lead and participates in technical meetings and discussions with Information Management/Information Technology/Audio Visual technical experts from DoD and other Federal Agencies.
  • Assists end users in learning how to schedule and use the Classroom/Conferencing Room AV equipment effectively and safely.
  • Primary management and administration of NDU Audio Visual Systems Infrastructure.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Must obtain and maintain Cybersecurity IAT I certification.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS 13 position, applicants must have at least one-year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, or equivalent public or private sector experience. For this position specialized experience is defines as:

GS-13 Specialized experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience in the following:

  • Planning and coordinating the execution of assigned tasks for Information Management/Information Technology/Audio Visual (IM/IT/AV) technical specialist;
  • Conducting quality assurance activities such as independent tests, inspections, reviews, and metrics.; and
  • Managing daily operation of an integrated audio-visual communication network including audio visual equipment, testing, and calibration.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Education is not substitutble for specialized experience at this grade level.

Initial Probationary Period: You will be required to serve an initial probationary period of one year if one has not already been completed.
