Duties

Help

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of sales, inventory, and customer transactions, using computerized inventory management systems and other tools as necessary.
  • Processes sales transactions, handles cash and credit transactions, and maintains a high level of accuracy with regards to cash handling and sales reporting.
  • Maintains a clean and organized store environment, ensuring that all merchandise is properly displayed and stocked. Assists with receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for and secured.
  • Collaborates with the Arts and Crafts Center and Auto Hobby Shop staff to identify supply needs and develop strategies for improving customer service and sales store operations.
  • Provides training and guidance to customers on the use of arts and crafts and auto hobby equipment and supplies. Maintains a high level of knowledge about arts and crafts and auto hobby products and services, providing recommendations and advice to customers as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures related to sales store operations and customer service.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail sales, customer service, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of customer service principles, sales techniques, and inventory management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and sales store staff. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions about sales store operations and customer service. Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems and other software applications.

Education
