Duties

Help
  • You will serve as the Chief of Real Estate Division, responsible for technical and administrative sufficiency of all real estate programs within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and key personnel of Project Management, Construction, Engineering and Operations Divisions in connection with real estate planning as well as real estate requirements and problems.
  • Supervises the Real Estate Division staff that averages 15 employees in three branches, including realty specialists, appraisers, program and budget analysts, cartographic technicians, support technicians and clerical staff.
  • Actively engages in the Real Estate Community of Practice to maintain communications with higher HQ’s and sister districts, provide feedback on policies or practices under review, and retain technical proficiencies.

  • This position requires the incumbent to have or obtain Real Estate Contracting Officer delegation warrant within 24 months of entrance on duty.

  • This position requires travel to other duty locations approximately 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the federal service which includes experience in directing technical real estate work on complex and controversial cases, and acts as District representative on Real Estate issues to using services, other Federal agencies, state and local governments, Tribal/Native councils, private corporations, impacted groups and the public.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
