As a OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Develop, maintain, coordinate, and publish USTRANSCOM Planning equities using intelligence informed recommendations and strategies within DOD global campaign plans and related campaign support plans including the DoD Functional Campaign Plan for Global Deployment and Distribution in accordance with established DoD and Joint Staff guidance.
  • Synchronizes USTRANSCOM campaign plans with other DoD campaign plans; to advocate with the planning efforts of the Joint Staff, other Combatant Commands, the Interagency, and other DoD agencies to incorporate JDDE equities in Joint Strategic Capabilities Plan (JSCP)- directed Campaign and Contingency Plans.
  • Within the Strategy Coordination Cell (SC2) formulates positions on critical issues and projects evolved from the Service staffs, OSD, the Joint Staff, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence staff, and other DoD and inter-agency organizations providing timely, authoritative, and sound advice and recommendations on the Asia Pacific and Europe regions.
  • Establishes and maintains strategic situational awareness, synchronizes CCMD, Component and Service requirements, amplifying all source intelligence baselines, and assists the CCMD in ensuring - through the development of policies, plans, and operations

  • Incumbent will be required to take/pass a polygraph examination.
  • Shift work, weekend duty, and weekend stand-by duty may be required. Incumbent must be available for work within three- hour recall in emergency situations and must be available to travel in CONUS within 24 hours and OCONUS within 72 hours of notice.
  • Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use
  • This position is designated as a key position. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment ofwartime/contingency operations.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13 f you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Managing and incorporating intricate automated transportation system data into viable solutions; critical to implement approved alternative transportation solutions.
  • Developing practical transportation solutions to resolve emerging disruptions to transportation operations in execution through comprehensive knowledge of GCC operations and transportation requirements.
  • Identifying and assessing threats to global inter-modal operations and orchestrate production and dissemination of comprehensive transportation intelligence on seaports, airfields, and connecting surface networks.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
