• Plan, organize, and implement medical standards activities for the Chief of Aerospace Medicine (SGP).
• Plan and organize all practices and administrative procedures for the command.
• Provide ongoing consultant and advisory support to the wing, base, and group executive staff concerning force health.
• Develop and present to the wing/medical executive staff, protocols for the management of evolving medical standards.
• Compile Aeromedical Services Information Management System (ASIMS) data, analyzes, and reports to executive leadership.
• Apply the Joint Commission (TJC), Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), and Health Services Inspection (HSI) standards, as necessary, to meet appropriate laws and regulations.
• Provide consultative services to the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) on medical standard issues, medical standards training, deployment processing, and other Aerospace Medicine Standards related topics.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the management of administrative operations or programs in a health care setting; implementing or reviewing administrative policies; and tracking training requirements for personnel within an organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
