Summary

You will serve as an entry-level Intelligence Specialist within Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), Intelligence Directorate (S2), in either the Middle East and Africa Regional Division or the Asia Pacific Regional Division. Personnel will perform intelligence analysis and production tasks relative to the political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical, or military issues specific to foreign countries. These positions are located in Quantico, VA.

Duties

Help
  • You will research, collate, interpret, analyze, evaluate, and integrate raw data from multiple sources and intelligence databases to assess the relevance and significance of developments in your assigned area(s).
  • You will apply structured analytic techniques to develop original, all-source analytic assessments from concept to publication, with assistance.
  • You will compose written all-source intelligence assessments and prepare and present briefings in accordance with Intelligence Community Directives, with assistance.
  • You will provide regional expertise to support wargames and exercises for tactical, operational, and strategic level customers, with assistance.
  • You will collaborate with regional and technical intelligence specialists from throughout the Intelligence Community to develop original assessments and respond to customer requirements.
  • You will evaluate intelligence reporting, identify intelligence gaps, formulate collection requirements, and engage collection managers to develop collection plans, with assistance.
  • You will participate in designated interagency and community meetings, conferences, and forums.

Qualifications

GG-07
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as:

1) Assist higher graded analyst with searching, selecting, and compiling specific information from a variety of sources and databases to prepare reports for various types of customers;
2) Utilize basic academic principles, methods, and accepted procedures to analyze and evaluate information;
3) Evaluate material to identify and extract relevant information pertaining to the assigned subject matter and geographic area;
4) Composing papers written to academic standards on political, social, and/or security issues;
5) Assist with preparation of briefings on assigned areas of responsibility for senior level officials;
6) Receive formal guidance to accomplish less complex intelligence assignments designed to develop skills and competencies necessary for successful performance and advancement;
and 7) Experience with multi-tasking.

OR

Have successfully completed a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

GG-09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as:

1) Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand political, social, and/or security issues;
2) Research and collate information obtained from a variety of intelligence resources and databases;
3) Synthesizing information from disparate intelligence sources to form coherent assessments;
4) Apply Intelligence Community Directives and Analytic Tradecraft Standards to produce written assessments and oral presentations on political, social, and/or security issues;
5) Utilize structed analytic techniques to develop and evaluate intelligence assessments.

OR

Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.

OR

Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.

OR

Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
