Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Division-wide expert on plan formulation for water and related land resource projects for the Harvey Supplemental Team.
  • Manage the program and provide quality assurance for plan formulation performed within the Division and subordinate districts.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to key operating officials and counterparts at the district and Division levels, higher headquarters, other government agencies and private interests.
  • Serve as expert for national forums on the formulation of water and related land resource projects.
  • Maintain contact with representatives of other corps offices, other federal and state agencies and interagency committees.
  • Provide oversight of the pre-authorization planning program and the post authorization planning activities for civil works studies and projects.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing Civil Works studies; AND 2) Coordinating reviews of Civil Works planning studies with internal agency peers or independent external peers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Note: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 1 year. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
