About the Position: As the Senior Review Appraiser for the Appraisal Staff, incumbent is responsible for the oversight and final review of appraisals prepared by District appraisers.

Duties

Help
  • Expert knowledge of the wide range of appraisal concepts, principles and methodologies, and industry principles and practices in order to conduct or approve appraisals.
  • Performs appraisals involving a broad range of complex properties such as a military base, privately owned or designated recreational properties, which can generate conflicts with commercial, residential, or agricultural uses.
  • Work directly with District customers and other agencies concerning appraisal matters.
  • Manage activities by scheduling, setting priorities, and making adjustments as needed to coordinate the team's efforts to assure timely completion of required work.
  • Serves as advisor to the Chief, Real Estate Division and Branch Chiefs regarding appraisals

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. The GS-13 grade level requires the incumbent to possess a certified General Real Estate Appraiser license. Incumbent must possess and maintain this licensing for the duration of employment with the agency. You MUST upload a copy of your license to your application package.

To qualifiy at the GS-13 grade level you must have:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes recommending approval or approving the final appraisal, depending on value of the property being appraised AND preparing Performance Work Schedule and obtaining appraisal services from appraisers in private industry AND reviewing and approving appraisals and reports.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12.)
