Current and former military members of the Kansas Air National Guard. Former KSANG must provide a NGB Form 22 or 22A showing characterization as Honorable Discharge or General Discharge Under Honorable Conditions.
As an INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11, you will serve as Special Security Office. Administers the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices. Perform other duties as assigned.
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top secret clearance/SCI within one year of appointment.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

Position designated as Essential and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year experience equivalent the next lower grade (GS-9). Experience, training or knowledge includes: Knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies. Experience being responsible for the proper operations of the Special Security Office and handles all of the more complex, non-routine security issues that arise. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to independently review, analyze and resolve the difficult and complex security problems that come into the office. Responsible for providing guidance to the lower-graded Security Specialists in the office. Experience in the application of physical, personnel and information security responsible for utilizing knowledge of the interrelationships of the various security specialties and to develop program policy to ensure the proper SCI-level protection.
