Duties

Help
  • Applies expertise in the design and implementation of new requirements and modifications to existing software as well as software reprogramming.
  • Provides IT advice, assistance, and training to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of IEWS systems.
  • Leads and coordinates the efforts of other IT Specialists and contractors in the analysis and development of future software design and programming techniques.
  • Formulates, plans, implements, manages, tracks, and evaluates large-scale and extremely complex IT support projects and their associated requirements and risks.
  • Evaluates proposals provide technical guidance to contractors, resolve technical problem areas, observes progress, and evaluates performance.
  • Develops, coordinates, and promotes interagency cooperative efforts in the management, utilization, and operation of data processing and data communication resources.

  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time (sometimes on short notice to worldwide locations, using the fastest mode of transportation available).
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Foundational certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Business & Technical Maganement Career Path (AcqDemo) Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Designing and implementing modifications to existing software programs, 2) Analyzing large scale IT projects for future demand, and 3) Overseeing quality assurance plans and system functions to ensure software suitability.

Applicants must meet basic eligibility requirements such as minimum qualifications, and other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.

Education
