Duties

Help
  • Effectively works with junior staff members to complete mission through on the job training/mentorship and review of work products.
  • Negotiate and prepares various acquisition documents such as options, deeds, and title curative instruments.
  • Develop GIS and mapping products that provides the Real Estate Division accurate Locational Intelligence for complex Real Estate issues.
  • Serve as advisor and program manager for the development of mapping, cartographic, and cadastral evaluations in support of the Real Estate Mission.
  • Provide support for encroachment resolution on Government owned or leased properties in accordance with policy and appropriate laws and regulations.
  • Perform complex phases of cartographic compilation work in the construction, revision and maintenance of Real Estate maps and charts.
  • Compile data for and prepares recurring or special reports pertaining to real estate activities and project funds.
  • Solve controversial or difficult real estate problems in accordance with policy and appropriate laws and regulations
  • Use Real Estate laws and regulations including the Real Estate Handbook and P. L. 91-646 to effectively administer the Real Estate program for Federal and Non-Federal acquisition.
  • Support the Real Estate Acquisition Program as a Project Delivery Team (PDT) member, relocation advisor, negotiator, and liaison with the Non-Federal Sponsor.
  • Effectively interacts with other USACE divisions, stakeholders, congressional interests, and private landowners regarding various Real Estate programs.

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have:

Specialized Experience
: One year of specialized experience which includes analysis, review, and resolution of complex, controversial, or problematic reports related to Real Estate encroachments, inspections and outgrants; real estate market knowledge and understanding, and application of multi-purpose land use classifications, acquisition/management principles and procedures, types of real property interest acquired, and marketing impacts of disposal; obtaining and integrating real estate data from multiple sources, producing and reviewing legal descriptions, and illustrating real estate matters visually. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

  • Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 1 Year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years.
