Help
  • Provides expert technical assistance to USAID Missions on agrifood market systems factors, such as access to finance, that affect agrifood businesses’ ability to deliver safe, healthy diets to consumers.
  • Serves as a technical point of contact on private sector engagement and finance that increases investment in agrifood markets and businesses leading to increased safe, nutritious food and reduced food loss and waste.
  • Identifies issues and participates in design, researchable question development, data collection and analysis, message development, and report writing in support of USG Global Food Security Strategy implementation.
  • Facilitates policy and programs for sustainable food systems for healthy diets, including the impacts of expanded technology development, trade, financial services and rural infrastructure.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

A. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus

OR

B. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement, you also need to meet the following:

FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) year of specialized experience equivalent to the at least the GS-13 level; or its non-federal equivalent that included experience: serves as a technical point of contact on private sector engagement and finance that increases investment in agrifood markets and businesses leading to increased safe, nutritious food and reduced food loss and waste and promote best practices on the nexus of nutrition, food systems, climate, and sustainability to improve diets and nutrition, especially for women and children, by improving the diversity, affordability, and desirability of safe, nutritious foods.

Note: There is no education substitution for this grade level.

  • This education must have been successfully completed and obtained from an accredited school, college, or university
