  • Leading and directing trans-NIH efforts to ensure health equity as a primary goal of the All of Us Research Program.
  • Represent the program and NIH in a variety of activities that promote and educate the scientific community about NIH’s role in reducing health disparities.
  • Provides expertise in health equity to ensure that all persons have the opportunity to obtain full health potential and are not disadvantaged from achieving full health potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances.
  • Performs unusually difficult and responsible assignments that require scientific research expertise and judgment to support particularly complex program activities on a continuing and frequent basis.

Qualifications

Education Requirement
In order to qualify for a Senior Scientist, GS-0601, position you must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree, or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).

Additional Qualification Requirements
In order to qualify for a Senior Scientist, GS-0601 at the GS-15 level: You must have at least one year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: conducting research to identify and evaluate health inequality and disparities impacting biomedical research programs; evaluating research data to identify and improve deficiencies across health equity programs; and, developing key metrics (i.e. data indices from censuses or administrative data sets) to improve health equity and ensure diversity in research studies.

You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
