Duties

At the full performance level GS-14the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Serves as team lead for change and release management. Monitors and distributes workload in a variable workload environment to ensure proper utilization of resources.
  2. Monitors change and release management processes to ensure compliance with BIO written guidance and workflows.
  3. Ensures the auditability of the change management process to prevent audit findings.
  4. Manage projects as assigned. Creates project plans and monitors progress and resources. Performs risk analysis for projects. Prepares reports on project status.
  5. Educates and assists other BIO staff in the proper use of change and release management tools and the associated process flows.
  6. Serves as project manager for major software releases and project quality gates.
  7. Coordinates, documents and educates Stakeholders on change and release management workflows.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.

Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: MUST MEET ALL

(1) Knowledge of change and release management best practices;
(2) Ability to lead and manage a team, including the distribution of workload; and
(3) Manage software projects and quality gates.
