At the full performance level, the Quality Review Technician conducts quality review audits of Social Security disability and non-disability cases at the Ready-to-Schedule (RTS) stage as part of the Quality Assurance Program, which is an in-line review of electronic claim files at the RTS, SIGN, and/or EDIT status in the case processing and management system (CPMS). This process promotes adherence to SSA's Electronic Business Process (eBP) and policy compliance.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the grade levels listed below, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

GS-09: Fifty-two weeks of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-08 level. Examples of specialized experience include experience adjudicating SSA benefits program or case processing; providing technical guidance, mentoring or training to coworkers; researching and interpreting complex laws, rules or regulations to make recommendations; explaining technical material as it relates to social security laws or hearing procedures; drafting case summaries or special determinations for case files.

Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

GS-9: Applicants for promotion must have 52 weeks at GS-08.

Time in grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. Candidates currently receiving a higher locality pay than the office applied for are advised that should they be selected, they will lose entitlement to the higher locality pay.

This position is temporary not-to-exceed one-year. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended or become permanent.

This position is at the full performance level.

This position is eligible for telework.

This is a bargaining unit position, represented by NTEU.

Travel expenses for temporary assignments will be paid as appropriate according to applicable travel rules and/or regulations.
