Duties

Help
  • Provides technical expertise to accomplish analysis of options and development of the design for advanced and complex IT and cyber security systems.
  • Coordinates development of system documentation for complex assignments in accordance with DoD, agency, major command, and local standards.
  • Making improvements, solving problems, or taking corrective action for on-going projects when problems arise.
  • Presents briefings and consults with industry and institutions on technology, state-of-the-art developments and new manufacturing procedures as they relate to telecommunications in general and assigned projects in particular.
  • Develops and presents contract modification proposals as required.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Term NTE 2 Years position. A one year trial/probationary period is required.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • This position requires submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that includes: 1) Planning and coordinating the design, development, installation, configuration, and implementation of major hardware or software systems; 2) Planning and developing project cost estimates and developing technical and contractual requirements including writing and evaluating PWSs, SOWs, and/or SOOs; AND, 3) Performing IT product studies, with emphasis on interoperability and compliance with Army and DoD IT policy.

Education

Additional information

  • This is a pay banded position. The NH-03 encompasses grades 12 and 13 on the General Schedule.
  • Position may be filled as a Term appointment NTE 2 years. Employees hired under the modified term appointment may be eligible for conversion to career-conditional appointments or career appointments. This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as the following requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service and employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointments of at least full successful or equivalent.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
