The Group Supervisor (GS) serves as the first-line supervisor of a group of attorney-advisers, paralegal analysts, and technicians. The incumbent directs the complex technical and professional work of subordinate employees who perform the analysis, development, and decision drafting of hearings-level disability and non-disability cases.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include reviewing claims under Titles II, XVI, and/or XVIII of the Social Security Act; planning, directing, reviewing and/or supervising the work of others; communicating orally and in writing with a variety of contacts in governmental and non-governmental organizations; conducting studies and preparing analysis or evaluations relating to management, organizational issues, administrative systems, and/or operating procedures; writing policies or procedures relating to government programs.

LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. Candidates currently receiving a higher locality pay than the office applied for are advised that should they be selected, they will lose entitlement to the higher locality pay.

OTHER NOTES:
This position is temporary not-to-exceed 1 Year. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended or become permanent.

Selected employee is subject to the completion of a 1-year probationary period for a supervisory position unless the employee served in such a position before August 11, 1979, or has completed one.

This position is eligible for telework.

Travel expenses for temporary assignments will be paid as appropriate according to applicable travel rules and/or regulations.

This is not a virtual position. Selected employee will be required to report onsite.
