Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, provides advice on work methods, practices and procedures.
Assists the team and/or individual members in identifying parameters of a viable solution.
Estimates and reports to the team on progress in meeting established milestones and deadlines for completion of assignments, projects and tasks.
Ensures that all team members are aware of, and participate in, planning for achievement of team goals and objectives.
Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor’s instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met.
Leads the team by identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
Makes adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks and ensures that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To qualify for this GS-08 Lead Printing Technician position you must demonstrate at least 52 weeks of Specialized Experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE must have been gained in a federal position at or above GS-07 OR (if your position and/or experience is in another federal pay scale OR outside of federal service) by performing duties at a level of responsibility and difficulty equivalent to GS-07 or above.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is work that primarily consists operating and maintaining high-speed state-of-the-art electronic publishing and duplicating systems equipment, which may be equipped with any combination of sorting, stitching, binding, reduction and variable exposure capabilities.
If you perform this kind of work, you must describe, in your own words, the duties you perform that demonstrate it.
Reviewers cannot assume you perform duties you don't describe.

CONDITIONS OF THE POSITION:
The work requires long periods of standing, bending and walking during equipment setup, adjustment, operation and maintenance.
Work requires operator to lift light to moderately heavy objects (under 50 pounds) such as boxes of paper and other equipment supplies.
Work is performed in a duplicating production environment where other reproduction-related operations are being performed.
The immediate work area is climate-controlled and adequately lighted.
Moderate risks and discomforts occur from paper dust, machine noise, dry ink, glue, etc.
Extra safety precautions are required when clearing jams from the finishing unit and fuse (to avoid burns from extremely hot surfaces).
Work is often high volume / high priority, with short due dates.
Education
This position does not have an educational requirement.
Education cannot be used in lieu of (or in combination with) Specialized Experience to meet Minimum Qualifications.
