Duties

Help
  • Serves as Assistant Program Manager responsible for managing new systems through advanced development, production and fielding.
  • Exercises management control of all functional inputs to the program.
  • Directs effective utilization of project resources.
  • Maintains a continuous up to date cognizance of all aspects of project(s).
  • Identifies problem areas and determines and directs action necessary to accomplish the project plan and objectives.
  • Maintains liaison with appropriate representatives of DA, industry, supporting organizations and involved foreign governments.
  • Oversees coordination between assigned program(s) and other systems.
  • Attends high level conference and meetings.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
  • Selectee must meet position requirements for practitioner certification in (A) Program Management within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience at the NH-02 level that includes the ability to: 1. Providing a wide-range of program support to include managing systems through development, production, and fielding; 2. Reviewing and evaluating program-related components (such as engineering, procurement, production, budgeting, logistics development, sustainment planning, integrated logistics support, testing, configuration management, product improvement, and fielding) to ensure cost/schedule/performance goals are met; 3. Providing technical advice and applying analytical problem solving to internal staff and/or other organizations on program related issues; and 4. Delivering briefings and provide interface coordination with other agencies regarding program/project status.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent).

  • You will be required to undergo background investigation leading to the successful adjudication of eligibility for a Secret Security clearance. Derogatory information developed during the background investigation, such as a criminal history, could render the selectee ineligible for both the security clearance and continued employment in the position, if already appointed be approved if eligible under specific conditions.
  • This position may be eligible for regular, and recurring TELEWORK, including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled Telework. Supervisor approval will be required on a case-by-case basis.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
  • This is an Acquisition Demo Modified Term Appointment NTE 5 years. Position may be extended an additional 1 year with approval.
    • Employees hired under the modified term appointment may be eligible for conversion to career-conditional appointments or career appointments without further competition.
      • To be converted, the employee must meet all of the following: a) Have been selected for the term position under competitive procedures, with the announcement specifically stating that the individual(s) selected for the term positions(s) may be eligible for conversion to career-conditional or career appointments at a later date; and; b) Have served two years of continuous service in the term positions; and (c) Have been considered to have adequate contributions and a fully successful performance rating for two assessment cycles (including the current assessment cycle) immediately preceding conversion.
