Help

DUTY 1 - Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the 688th Cyberspace Wing, ensuring that all Wing Cybersecurity requirements comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.

DUTY 2 - Serves as recognized authority for Cybersecurity Policy and Compliance.

DUTY 3 - Represents the 688th Cyberspace Wing with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

DUTY 4 - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Must Obtain/Maintain Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement.
  • Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
  • A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

NOTE: IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE APPLICANT MUST ALSO MEET THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW.

Specialized Experience:
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methods; as well as system network architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of the AF cybersecurity inspection/evaluation methodologies in order to manage, develop, and implement an 688th CW Cybersecurity assessment program for oversight, adherence to DOD policies and standards. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Expert Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methods; as well as system network architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Expert knowledge of the AF cybersecurity inspection/evaluation methodologies in order to manage, develop, and implement an 688th CW Cybersecurity assessment program for oversight, adherence to DOD policies and standards.
4. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information.
5. Skill in understanding of AF Information Technology operations in order to secure network and information systems as well as detect and/or mitigate IT and cyberspace vulnerabilities. Expert cybersecurity knowledge and experience in IT related disciplines of COMPUSEC, TEMPEST, ICAM, Workforce Improvement Program and Risk Management Framework.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. 7. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
