Duties

Help
  • Directs the completion of office level special assignments and high priority projects which require negotiations with key personnel of OFLM offices, Regional Offices, DCBFM offices, other SSA components and other federal or external organizations.
  • Provides advice and recommendations to managers on personnel and administrative management including budget, organization, staff utilization, personnel policy/procedures, performance management, affirmative employment and labor/management relations.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for improvements in data collection, compilation and information for management regarding the quality and quantity of services performed.
  • Maintains knowledge of activities that cross organizational lines that impact on the office’s mission and/or require the attention of the Director.
  • Provides technical and advisory expertise on ORM problem areas to offices within SSA.
  • Prepares major reports or recommendations from the Director and Deputy Director to the Executive Officer and the Associate Commissioner, often having SSA-wide implications.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for this GS-13 Management Analyst position you must demonstrate at least 52 weeks of Specialized Experience.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE must have been gained in a federal position at or above GS-12 OR (if your position and/or experience is in another federal pay scale OR outside of federal service) by performing duties at a level of responsibility and difficulty equivalent to GS-12.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is work that primarily consists of a variety of high-level coordinative, analytical, consultative and advisory services relating to the management and operation of a component or office.

If you have this experience, your resume must describe, in your own words, the duties you perform that demonstrate it.

Since Specialized Experience also has a time component, it must be evident that the duties you describe are at the required level for at least 52 weeks.

Reviewers cannot assume you perform duties you don't describe.

This is a non-bargaining unit position to be filled under the provisions of the Management Officials Promotion Plan. The best-qualified list for this vacancy may be used to fill the same or similar positions in a component(s) under the same Deputy Commissioner. Additional selections may be made within 6 months of the date the best qualified list is issued.

This position is on a full-time, flex-time schedule and may be eligible for an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS).

This position is eligible for telework after all conditions for telework have been met.

This position is not authorized to be filled virtually or through outstationing. The Official Duty Station (ODS) for this position is Woodlawn, Maryland. To participate in telework you must reside within a 2-hour commute to this ODS.

Relocation expenses will not be paid; salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions.
