The Office of Audits (JA) has a goal of improving GSA, while simultaneously protecting the integrity of its operations. This office accomplishes its mission by identifying and reporting on the challenges facing GSA management. JA conducts programmatic performance audits of GSA's operations and activities, implementation reviews, and/or contract audits. The Office of Audits also oversees financial statement audits and compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
The Writer/Editor provides critical support to audit staff members by editing written products prepared in conducting audits of GSA contracts, operations, programs, systems, work processes, acquisitions, internal controls, and financial or contract administration functions. The Writer/Editor is responsible for providing expert-level technical advice, editing, and review of various audit reports and documents to align with established standards and guidelines. The work will include the following duties and responsibilities:
Conduct detailed writing, reviewing, and editing tasks for a wide range of audit products, including standard audits and high-priority, rapid-response evaluations as mandated by top-level officials and legislative bodies.
Independently manage the workflow of writing, reviewing, and editing tasks, ensuring alignment with the strategic audit plan and timely completion of audit documents.
Ensure all audit reports and documents comply with the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG’s) policies and guidance and U.S. Government Accountability Office's (GAO’s) Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and adhere to prescribed style guides such as the Chicago Manual of Style.
Represent the Audit Product Review team in various internal and external meetings, effectively communicating audit findings and strategic implications to senior management.

Qualifications
The GS-14 salary range starts at $124,113 per year.
To qualify at the GS-14 level: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS- the 13 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as:
Communicating creatively in writing and designing innovative ways to reach and persuade audiences on matters which may be complex and controversial;
Providing strategic document style and format guidance and oversight;
Writing, editing, and posting guidebooks, training materials, and standard operating procedures; and
Analyzing content, organization, and the presentation of draft and final documents.

Knowledge and skill to sufficiently use common business software applications to develop working papers.
Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, oral, or written means to establish and maintain relationships with OIG personnel, GSA personnel, and other stakeholders internal and external to the agency.
Skill in utilizing project management techniques to effectively coordinate the completion of audits in accordance with established goals, objectives, and milestones.
