Duties

Help
  • Independently applies professional and scientific knowledge of computer and data science in the development of new and improved processes, products, concepts, principles, and techniques that will optimize the way in which SEC conducts business.
  • Conducts fact-finding activities to develop solutions to resolve complex problems and then provides solutions utilizing processes such as data training models and machine learning techniques to generate insight for solution sets.
  • Develops, supports and maintains new and existing datasets responsible for the data integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Processing and converting raw data into clean, organizing information, developing tools and techniques to produce findings and insights from both structured and unstructured data.
  • Leads teams to perform research and develop recommendations and documentation of results and interpretation of large and/or complex data sets to develop data-driven solutions.
  • Develop/recommend statistical software and computer programs to perform analysis of information.
  • Conduct regression, statistical analysis, modeling, machine learning, data engineering, mathematical programming or other natural language processing, auto coding and data visualization.
  • Independently determine the best and most efficient way to collect quantitative information from any area across the organization.
  • Conducting statistical analysis to make informed projections, data driven decisions, and recommendations based on findings.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Developing software systems and applications by applying computer science, mathematical and statistical theories, techniques processes and methods; (2) Resolve complex data system software problems across organization to include design and construct new processes for modeling, interpretation and/or reporting qualitative information and trends (3) Monitor computer data integrity throughout the data lifecycle to develop data-driven solutions and continuous improvement; and (4) Conduct statistical analysis and projections based on datasets to make qualitative based decisions.

AND

In addition to meeting the experience requirement above, applicants must also possess the following basic education requirement:
Bachelor's degree in computer science OR bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts.
