Duties

Help

As a Housing Management Assistant, GS-1173-07, you will process requests for temporary quarters. Review applications for accuracy and completeness of data. Counsel brigade and battalion housing representatives regarding the availability, type, size and location of quarters. Assist in the assignment of troop issue housing and administrative space. Evaluates such factors as size of units, gender of troops, type of unit, serviceability and availability of building space and desire to maintain unit integrity while effecting maximum utilization of space. Determine the need to move or rearrange furnishings and equipment and direct the accomplishment of such work.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is
open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinitely temporary positions (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be
given to Category 1.

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted; E4 thru E7.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Must have experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of housing management methods, practices, and operating techniques. Experience communicating information both verbally and in writing, and the ability to meet and deal with individuals and groups.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Must have at least 1-year of experience, education or training determining deficiencies of housing and coordinating the required services to correct the deficiencies. Experience reviewing housing applications for accuracy and completeness. Experience monitoring housing assignments in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures. Experience in conducting audits and preparing reports. Experience using automated systems to update, retrieve and analyze data.

Education
