Summary

You will serve as the Administrative Officer for the Center Operations Directorate (COD) at Stennis Space Center (SSC) and Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC). Responsibilities will include providing oversight of the execution of day-to-day administrative operations and managing a variety of long-term strategic administrative activities, special projects, and initiatives in support of SSC, AFRC and the NASA Office of Strategic Infrastructure (OSI) enterprise.

Help
  • Provides overall administrative management for the organization, including interpreting, developing, and implementing local or enterprise policies, defining administrative requirements, or providing advice to executive management.
  • Manages a variety of administrative programs in the areas of awards administration, training, information systems, records management, personnel actions, budget administration for organizational programs, and the procurement of goods/services.
  • Prepares reports, identifies, and advises leadership regarding budgetary/workforce concerns such as projected shortfalls or unanticipated financial or workforce needs.
  • Conducts analysis to identify organizational issues. Develops recommendations and implements process improvement initiatives to resolve complex organizational problems. Adjusts and updates organizational policies and procedures.
  • Prepares status reports and responses to data calls. Gathers data, analyzes information, and provides metrics outlining general trends, issues, themes on a variety of areas impacting the organization and overall organizational health.
  • Collaborates with Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) to find solutions to management problems which have an impact on the workforce. Performs a wide range of liaison services to support complex human resources activities.
  • Communicates concisely and effectively with employee, stakeholders, and management officials. Prepares and presents briefings, reports, and presentations to the organization and senior leadership in writing or orally.
  • Performs a variety of administrative services in support of action tracking, risk management, project definition/prioritization, and status reporting.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:

  • Providing administrative support in one of the following areas: awards programs, employee training, personnel management, programs budgeting and financial management, procurement management, records management, or electronic and information technology management;
  • Evaluating administrative functions to identify/implement process improvements;
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals from diverse areas, disciplines, and authority levels within an organization.
