Help
  • You will analyze a logistical systems program to identify information assurance technical and policy compliance issues.
  • You will advise employees on a logistics program goals and objectives.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Analyze workload, man-hours, procedures, processes and flow of materials to determine the degree and effect of operations and costs; 2) Utilize supply and logistics systems to maintain information pertaining to receiving, shipping, distribution and delivery of services and materials; 3) Plan, schedule, and conduct day-to-day logistics support and projects to maintain effective work operations; and 4) Provide technical assistance with logistics procedures and problems (e.g. transportation, communications, customs clearance). Education

Additional Information (Continued):

This position is designated as a Mission-Essential position. This is defined as an employee who may be activated to maintain continuity of Government Operations during emergencies involving national security, a natural disaster, extended emergencies, or other unique situations such as snow
emergency days, severe weather conditions, holidays, increased security periods, national emergency or other dismissal or closure situations.

Must possess or be capable of obtaining a US Driver's License and U.S. Official Passport.

The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Physical Demands

This position is primarily sedentary. However, while ships are in port, the incumbent will be required to make daily pier visits and perform duties regardless of weather conditions. Incumbent must be able to physically operate in a shipboard environment to include climbing and descending
brows, ladders and accessing hatches/scuttles. Individual may be required to work with material handling equipment, drive standard transmission motor vehicle and lift up to 40 pounds during events of crisis.

Incumbent may be subject to more than occasional travel of up to 25%. This may require walking, bending and climbing during visits to various Navy and commercial installations. During the course of this travel, industrial facilities may be visited or toured.

Work Environment

Work is done primarily in an office setting. Required to visit various warehouse, local DLA Activities, other local activities to conduct business. When ships are in port, incumbent will be performing site visits to piers, berths, or onboard Naval and Coast Guard ships and may encounter
adverse weather conditions, excessive heat/cold/humidity, excessive noise and fumes, smoke or gases. PPE is provided for times incumbent is required to go onboard ships or crafts, go to warehouses or visit shipyard facilities.

The NATO Status of Force Agreement (SOFA) between Greece and the United States prohibits the hiring of any person who holds Greek citizenship/nationality as part of the civilian component with the US Forces in Greece. Whether a person is a Greek citizen/national is a determination made under both U.S. and Greek law. In addition, U.S. citizens who are considered "ordinary resident" in Greece are also ineligible for employment by U.S. commands and activities under U.S. appropriated fund conditions in Greece.

Souda Bay is a location that is without the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) support normally associated with an overseas assignment. Choosing the educational option that will be most effective for your child will be a critical decision you will have to make. Options are limited to boarding school, DOD virtual school, home school and 2 international schools. The participating International schools located on the Island of Crete are not conducive for High School Students preparing for College and most high school students attend boarding school. Choosing the educational option that will be most effective for your child will be one of the most critical decisions you will make. Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
