Duties

Help
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting in order to meet customers’ needs.
  • Analyzes configuration management processes and procedures, develops and recommends processes, software, and procedures to ensure effective configuration management within WHCA guidelines and policies.
  • Lead efforts to resolve difficult customer support requests, such as integrated or configuration-related issues.
  • Leads and directs personnel engaged in setting the standards and operating procedures for around the clock support of the networks across both non-secure and secure platforms.
  • Directs the activities of a customer support focused team composed of contractors, civilians and military employees.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in analyzing, evaluating, and recommending hardware/software changes to various computer systems.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum).

Education

There is no substitution of education for the Qualifying Experience at the GG-13 grade level.

  • This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IAT certification within six months of assignment of IAT duties. Level 2 certification is required prior to being authorized unsupervised privileged access.
  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
