About the Position: This position is located within the United States Military Training Mission (USMTM) on Al Nakhla Compound (AN-C) in downtown, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. AN-C is a high-end resort with both living, working and recreational areas. There are activities including, gyms, swimming, pools and a tennis court, plus grocery, food and several retail service facilities. The weather can be hot and dry with extreme heat in the summer months and mild winters with little rain.

Duties

Help
  • Serve as the J6 Director of Information Management (DOIM) .
  • Supervise a variety of Information Management functions to include unclassified data communications, secure and unsecure telecommunications, audiovisual support, telephone billing, Official Mail, SharePoint Management and Records Management.
  • Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative for an Information Technology (IT) support contract.
  • Responsible for all IT planning, programming, budgeting, IT security, maintenance and repair of all software and hardware in the command and the routine maintenance of unclassified websites (Intranet, Internet, and Public)
  • Manage the design, research, development, and operation of the information/automation and communication systems support.

  • This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing and will be required to sign DA Form 5019.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • Per USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual-Unit Deployment Policy, MOD-17, the incumbent must be evaluated for fitness for employment within the CENTCOM region.
  • A pre-placement medical, dental and behavioral health fitness standards is required prior to appointment and subject to annual screening. The incumbent must also receive required immunizations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

a) directing an Information Management program, and

b) planning, programming, budgeting, security, maintenance of IT hardware and software; and

c) developing long and short-range information system plans, and

d) providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.

  • This is a Career Program (CP-34) Information Technology position.
  • The initial length of this overseas tour is 1 Year Unaccompanied or 2 Years Accompanied, pending command approval and availabiity of housing. Dependents authorized are ADULT non-school age family members only IAW PDUSD (P&R) Memo of 17 Jul 08 and 07 Aug 08. Dependents below 18 years old are not authorized.

  • FULL-TIME U.S. CONUS HIRES ON A TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT: Candidate hired from CONUS are authorized the following foreign allowances (subject to change without notice): 30% Post Allowance; 25% Post Differential; 25% Sunday Premium Pay for actual work performed on a Sunday; and Voluntary or Involuntary Separate Maintenance Allowance, if eligible; and 15 days of Home Leave. Work week is Sunday through Thursday. NOTE: These allowances are governed under the DSSR and subject to change with little or no notice.
