The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Responsible for all enterprise physical security systems and hardware in use throughout all Bureau of the Fiscal Service facilities/regions.
Oversee and perform the planning, design, installation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and upgrading of new or specialized hardware, operating systems, and applications software supporting all physical security systems.
Coordinate and monitor 24-hour technical support for all physical security systems, services, and hardware.
Qualifications: You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience for this position includes experience performing physical security work, with clear precedents and under limited supervision, involving the application of security programs and policies in order to safeguard personnel, facilities, materials, and documents.

- Conducting physical security surveys and assessments; OR
- Assisting with investigating security problems and developing alternative solutions; OR

Specialized experience for this position includes experience performing security work independently performing security surveys or coordinating with other members of the team regarding cost-benefit relationships for security devices or equipment systems, and similar considerations.
Examples of such experience could include:
-Applying risk assessment methods, threat assessment principles and physical security practices in order to Inspecting facilities where security processes and methods are known to the employee, security programs are operated effectively, and there is no history of significant violations and deficiencies and make recommendations OR
Collecting information, interviewing workers, observing physical conditions and related activities concerned with violations and compromises. OR
- Experience using security policies, procedures, priorities and program plans to assist a team to plan, evaluate and develop physical security program components for the protection of resources and assets. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work OR an LL.B. or J.D., in a field related to this position. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. You may qualify on a combination of education and experience.
