Summary

Serves as Transportation Officer for Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) by ensuring transportation equipment is maintained, supplies are available, and policies/procedures are followed, while representing MSFC Transportation at NASA Headquarters.
Responsible for ensuring the organization's plan, mission, vision and values are communicated and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, and work.
Coaches team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques while arranging for team member training and reporting of team status and progress of work.
Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments, transportation planning, and contract performance.
Applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to improve team and transportation effectiveness to meet organization and Center milestones and goals in performance.
Analyzes techniques to assess statistics and metrics related to transportation management issues and concerns, and conducts functional reviews to validate compliance with policies and regulations.
Plans, develops, and implements procedures for transportation services for MSFC, such as moving and freight services, including import/export of transportation materials.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
maintaining Special Purpose Equipment (SPE), GSA vehicles, and fuel supply to ensure availability for the Center
usage;
monitoring or coordinating freight management and motor pool operations for Center usage; and
validating all US customs polices/procedures for import/export of transportation materials.
