As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will provide the leadership, management, oversight, and direction necessary for TIGTA's information security programs and ensure that Federal and agency security requirements are met while providing oversight and compliance with interpretations of policies promulgated by Presidential Directives, Congress, National Institute of Standards (NIST), the Department of the Treasury, and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) activities.

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

  • Serve as a permanent voting member of the Technical Review Board (TRB).
  • Advise the CIO and the Director (CISO), Cybersecurity on current cybersecurity threats and developments, emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, and the TIGTA IT infrastructure and applications related to meeting organizational needs, including all matters relating to security vulnerabilities and threats to TIGTA's electronic systems.
  • Ensure the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to subordinates and integrated into Cybersecurity strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, products, and services.
  • Oversee the TIGTA IT security incident management process designed to effectively recognize, report, track, and resolve incidents and evaluate the feasibility of adapting new methods or recommendations to address future incidents.
  • Lead the implementation of operational security programs designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities; coordinates the implementation of security programs (e.g., continuous diagnostics and monitoring (CDM), compliance scanning, vulnerability scanning, etc.) across TIGTA and establishes vulnerability reporting criteria.
  • Serve as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for TIGTA. This role may be delegated as necessary and approved by the Director Cybersecurity and the CIO.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is a minimum of one year of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience must include:

- Oversight of program-level initiatives including budget and policy formulation; AND
- Developing and maintaining information security policies and procedures; AND
- Ensuring government information systems are in compliance with the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 (FISMA), AND
- Coordinating responses and actions to FISMA security audits.


In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
