Duties

Help

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:

  • Serve as a senior level analyst and subject matter expert leading efforts to deliver customer-centered IT solutions to improve customer service and streamline business processes across the agency.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and the development team, to gather, analyze, and document business requirements in support of key agency initiatives.
  • Support large scale systems or subsystems.
  • Serve as a lead analyst responsible for coordinating and integrating work of other analysts when the scope of the assignment necessitates the work of other analysts.
  • Analyze plans, legislation, policy statements and operating procedures to develop system requirements in terms of objectives, functions to be served, and management expectations.
  • Create user stories, use cases, or feature descriptions, with a focus on delivering value incrementally.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for GS-14 level:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Demonstrated experience applying Agile principles in order to analyze and evaluate business methods, problems, and facts in order to draw, conclusions, develop solutions and recommendations to meet business needs. Lead the development of project roadmaps, project plans, business cases. Conducting market research, reviewing and recommending policies, products, and technologies, to improve the customer's digital experience.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
