Summary

As a Supervisory Program Analyst, you will be perform for the following duties:

  • Serves as a center of expertise for the program, providing key input to policy development and/or implementation at the agency headquarters level. Serves as a liaison to high-ranking program personnel within Office of Mission Assurance (OMA) to convey information regarding program activities, agency policies and goals; to clarify procedures; and to interpret directives and/or other governing regulations as needed.

  • Supervises and directs the work of a group of employees with assigned responsibility for and accountable to superior for the quantity of work, timely accomplishment of assignments, economical work operations, and efficient utilization of personnel and other resources.

  • Applies a wide range of qualitative, and/or quantitative methods to assess and improve program effectiveness and/or complex management processes, projects and systems.

  • Expert communications is used in the development and briefing of both presentations and reports.

  • Serve a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period, if required
  • Submit to periodic and random drug testing where a urinalysis will be used to screen for illegal drug use. A negative test result is required before you start.

The GS-14 salary range starts at $116,393 per year.  

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience managing a team by assigning workload and evaluating performance on low and moderate level, time sensitive projects and programs; developing initiatives and management studies; interpreting, developing, and recommending policy; communicating with team members, internal and occasionally with external stakeholders.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

You will be scored on the questions you answer during the application process, which will measure your possession of the following competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Your responses to these questions must be supported by your resume or your score may be lowered.  

  • Knowledge of the range of laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the accomplishment of one or multiple OMA programs in order to assess the value and effectiveness of program accomplishments.
  • Knowledge of supervisory and management principles and practices for planning, organizing, executing, monitoring and evaluating people, performance and program requirements.
  • Skills in qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of programs.
  • Skills in effective oral and written communication.

Additional hurdle assessments, such as narrative responses or other assessments, may be administered to applicants who meet the requirements of the first hurdle, e.g., the minimum qualification requirements. If additional assessments are used, you will be provided with further instructions.
