The program is designed to integrate the student's educational studies with a wide range of clerical, administrative, and professional experiences that support the mission of EXIM. The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) of the Export-Import Bank of the United States seeks dedicated and enthusiastic rising law students to serve as part-time law clerks. The OGC legal internship offers a unique opportunity for a law student to learn the practice of law in a federal government corporation setting. The OGC is comprised of the Structured and Project Finance; Transportation; Trade Finance, Small Business, and Insurance; Litigation, Fraud, and Compliance; and Administrative Law practice groups. Students currently enrolled in an accredited law school are preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Undertaking legal research, writing, and other assignments in all areas of the law that OGC handles at the direction of a supervising attorney.
Participating in meetings with managers and other attorneys.
Receiving assignments from all OGC practice groups based on expressed areas of interest and the needs of the various practice groups.
MUST be a continuing student enrolled or accepted for enrollment for the current/upcoming semesters for the duration of the internship
Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Sign a Pathway's Internship Program agreement and adhere to program requirements.
Provide official documentation of enrollment status when requested
If you are graduating at the end of the semester and do not plan to continue your education, you are not eligible for the position

Currently enrolled, on at least a half-time basis, in an accredited college/university (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
In good academic standing, maintaining a G.P.A of 2.5 or higher
If you are graduating at the end of the semester, you are not eligible for the position.
Work Schedule Requirements:
You must be able to work at least 24 hours per week during the academic year and full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer.
This position is eligible for remote and/or hybrid work schedule during the school year.
This position is required to work a hybrid work schedule during the summer, reporting to the office 2 days a week.
If selected, you:
must sign a Pathways Internship Program Participant Agreement;
must maintain status as a current student;
must maintain good academic standing, at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale.
must furnish course registration information at the start of each school term (if extended); and
must provide verification of academic status (transcript) at the end of each academic term (if extended).
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the education requirements for each grade which you are requesting consideration for:
GS-07: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.
GS-09: Completion of 2 academic years of graduate level education, or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.

Upon successful completion of the Pathways Internship, candidates MAY BE converted to term or career appointment, without further competition. Candidates may be converted to the grade at which they qualify. Conversion to a term or career position is not guaranteed and is subject to many factors such as funding and position availability.
