About the Position:

This position provides life cycle software support to ensure suitability, reliability, maintainability, interoperability, and configuration integrity of software.

This position is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). APG is a U.S. Army facility located adjacent to Aberdeen, Harford County, Maryland, United States. APG is the U.S. Army's oldest active proving ground, established on 20 October 1917, six months after the U.S. entered World War I.

Duties

Help
  • Performs Project Management duties.
  • Formulates, plans, implements, manages, tracks and evaluates large scale and extremely complex IT support projects and their associated requirements and risks.
  • Provides IT advice, assistance, and training to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of C2 systems.
  • Serves as a technical expert regarding software support for C2 systems.
  • Furnishes expert technical advice and recommendations on major problem areas in assigned fields of specialization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. To qualify you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to the competencies listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (NH-02) in the Federal service which includes: Specialized experience is defined as:1) Maintain and develop software to support hardware and software automation technology; 2) Lead technical working groups and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure completion of tasks/milestones; 3) Develop and integrate new software requirements and capabilities into existing and new technologies while maintaining cyber security requirements; 4) Review and update Systems documents and reports.

This non-supervisory position is subject to a salary control point equivalent to the GS-13, step 10 base salary.
