Duties

Help

If you are selected for this position, you will perform the following duties:

  • Ability to communicate well with individuals and groups, possess strong listening and interpersonal skills; must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Prepare electronic document productions for processing/loading and inclusion into the FTC's document review platforms.
  • Enter related production media competently and accurately into litigation support systems and maintain required tracking and record keeping.
  • Establish and maintain a network folder structure to organize case data.
  • Ability to operate multiple applications for the purpose of encrypting and decrypting case data.
  • Responsible for quality control of incoming production data produced to BC-TIM.
  • Identify issues and problems associated with any data that may be corrupted.
  • Transfer data between various secure network environments with minimal to no supervision.
  • Utilize Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) platforms to send and receive confidential files from internal and external parties.
  • Utilizes various types of databases to complete special projects.
  • Develops reports in an easy-to-use format for investigational teams and Assistant Directors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Litigation Support Specialist at the GS-09 level, you must meet the following requirements:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B or J.D. if related
OR
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing on-going assistance to litigation support case teams by assisting in the identification, formulation and implementation technology solutions for electronic productions in order to improve litigation support. The incumbent uses a variety of software applications to ingest and process loose native files, archives, and emails for document review databases. Assists with the management and implementation of litigation support applications, including the design, creation, and maintenance of litigation databases.

To qualify for a Litigation Support Specialist at the GS-11 level, you must meet the following requirements:

Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M if related
OR
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing on-going assistance to litigation support case teams. To qualify for a Litigation Support Specialist at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing automated litigation support systems and databases in order to provide on-going assistance to litigation support case teams. Identifies, formulates and implements technology solutions for electronic productions in order to improve litigation support. Uses a variety of software applications to ingest and process loose native files, archives, and emails for document review databases. Manages and implements litigation support applications, including the design, creation, and maintenance of litigation databases.

Education

If you qualify on the basis of education in lieu of experience, you must submit a copy of your transcripts . Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package; however, official transcripts will be required prior to receiving an official offer.

If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
