As a Chief REO Branch, you will:

  • Be responsible for the planning, organization, direction, and coordination of all technical operations involved in the real estate-owned for the office. This includes properties having one-to-four living units, and the rental and sale or other disposition of acquired properties.
  • Be responsible for the preparation of normal and special environmental clearances; assisting in the preparation of environmental impact statements in accordance with existing instruction.
  • Represent the field office and HUD/FHA in industry and public meetings concerning the various HUD/FHA programs.
  • Render advice and consultation to the Division Director on questions regarding REO, and related matters.
  • Conduct spot field trips for the purpose of determining adequacy of the disposition program and verification of M&M monthly accounting records of expenditures and rental income.

The official duty station for this position will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

Key Requirements:
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience:

Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:

- Leading a team or project that involves coordinating and integrating the work of others into a completed work product which involves working closely with others to resolve problems, coordinating activities, or to gain acceptance of a project or procedure; AND
- Performing duties involving the oversight and monitoring of Real Estate Owned or Bank Owned activities, including repair and rehabilitation, operation, management, rental, and sale or other disposition of acquired properties, appraisals, or underwriting.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
