Duties

Help

Develops and maintains current marketing projects and advertising. Develops flyers, posters, brochures, pamphlets, booklets and a variety of promotional products for the 11th Force Support Squadron & the Joint Base Andrews community. Responsible for the design and creation of the bi-monthly Spotlight Base magazine, weekly electronic e-mailer, updates digital media monitors, and other marketing support needed. On a daily bases uses computer based design programs such as Microson Office Suite, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Illustrator and lnDesign. Uses industrial and office style print equipment and machines on a daily basis. Familiar with the technical characteristics, advantages and limitations of the production process like mass scale printing, copying, photo editing, scanning, etc. Ensures material required is available, or on order. Prioritizes print orders to meet deadlines. As the Lead Graphics Specialist, uses own judgment, creativity and expertise in layout and design. Ensures all products are in proper fonnat, grammatically correct, and arranged properly. Provides day-to-day advice and guidance lo co-workers as needed for work assignments. Develops and maintains Marketing/FSS web page using the most current software available. Responsible for managing FSS social media such as Facebook and lnstagram, etc. Must be able to assimilate all information and add to web page in accordance lo AF instructions and guidance. Must keep abreast of changes lo AFl's, manuals and guidance covering web pages and maintenance as well as ensuring all licenses, registrations and clearances for the web page are kept up-to-date. Coordinates with the necessary installation offices to ensure the web page follows all security and accessibility procedural guidance, regulations and policies. Handles and tracks day-to-day facility updates as well as coordinating consumer requests from the web customer to the facilities. Designs professional ads for commercial enterprises wishing to place paid advertisement. Assists in a variety of special projects, programs, and briefings. Provides all publicity support for special events lo ensure we are using the most current technology. Maintains specialized equipment to ensure it is in working order. Docs all printing, folding and collating as required. Other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Two years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of marketing/commercial sponsorship principles and practices. In addition, applicant must have 2 years specialized experience. This experience may have been gained in a commercial marketing, advertising agency or news agency. Specialized experience must demonstrate lhe applicant's ability to plan and implement new and unique printed or web publications without benefit of established criteria; must be able to work under short deadlines and shifting priori lies. Must possess written communicalion skills and the ability to perfonn basic math computations to process papenvork and perfonn physical inventories. Must possess knowledge and working experience with computer graphic design and desktop publishing. Must have working knowledge of the following software: Desktop publishing, illustration, graphic design, website administralion tools, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, etc.

Education
