Help

As an Office Manager (OA), you will:

  • Perform a variety of office management and administrative support duties requiring a thorough understanding of the nature and scope of the OIG and agency programs to ensure continuity and efficiency in all aspects of the OIG's office administration, including providing support for OIG's audits and investigations, managing the Semiannual Report to Congress, and managing the OIG's Hotline.
  • Provide administrative and technical support in the areas of budget, financial management, procurement, records management, supplies and equipment, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, time and attendance, human resources, staff training, and other administrative matters.
  • Conduct legal research under the Counsel's direction and supervision.
  • Review outgoing correspondence and reports for proper format and accuracy.

Qualifications

To qualify for the CU-09 grade level, you must have one of the following:

A. Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

All applicants applying for the CU-09 grade level must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-08grade level obtained in the private or public sector. This must include all of the experience below:

  1. Managing an office's administrative functions;
  2. Preparing, proofreading, and modifying documents, letters, reports, or memoranda; and
  3. Utilizing automated systems to prepare purchase requisitions, budget formulation, or reports.

OR

B. Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education (36 semester hours, 54 quarter hours) leading to such a degree related to the duties of the position such as business administration, management, or human resources. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

C. Combination of Education and Experience: Applicants may combine education and experience to qualify at this level.

SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position in accordance with NCUA's compensation policy.

The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes the locality rate for the Alexandria, Virginia geographical area. Please click here to review all salary ranges based on locality.
