Summary

The Information and Technology Division designs and administers system configuration and architecture including hardware and software, telecommunications, network operations, desktop systems, and system security.  Users expect state-of-the-art hardware, software and seamless access to internal and external resources from the desktop with minimum down-time.  The incumbent of this position serves as a specialist in providing hardware and software customer support to Court users.

Duties

Help

The incumbent of this position participates individually or as part of a team in tasks that involve the planning and delivery of customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements. Operates and maintains equipment and supplies necessary for on time production of summons, show cause, and other printed material.  

  • Answers the service desk calls, emails and unassigned trouble tickets.
  • Diagnoses and resolves desktop hardware problems in response to customer reported incidents.
  • Maintains trouble tickets and resolution database in accordance with ITIL best practices.
  • Configures, troubleshoots, and maintains customers’ software and hardware.
  • Ensures rigorous application of information security/information, assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of customer support services.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of paper stock for all computer room needs and toner.
  • Provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements.

This work requires some physical exertion such as recurring bending, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or configuration of equipment requiring lifting of up to 50 pounds of moderately heavy items such as computer monitors, servers, etc.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High School diploma or GED certificate with at least five (5) years or more of experience in information technology (IT) providing IT customer support or as a help desk technician.

Education Substitution:

  • Associate’s degree in information technology (IT) or related field and at least three (3) years or more of experience years providing IT customer support or help desk technician role.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology (IT) or related field and at least one (1) year or more of experience providing IT customer support or help desk technician role.

CompTIA A+ or other industry recognized certification desired.

Medical requirement: Must be physically able to lift or move items up to of 50 pounds.
