Help

  • Serves as supervisory technician of the NAF Accounting Office.
  • Oversees the total accounting services, ensuring accuracy of the accounting system.
  • Performs duties involving examination, verification and maintenance of account and accounting data as part of an accounting system.
  • Performs a monthly reconciliation and recapitulation of the general and subsidiary accounts to assure that the basic accounting data and the computerized reports are in balance.
  • Certifies vouchers for payments in accordance with the Prompt Payment Act.
  • Classifies erroneous conditions, takes corrective action, verifies corrected copy, and recommends changes in procedures to prevent a recurrence of the problem.
  • Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribed to general ledger for close out of all accounts.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience in work which provided comprehensive knowledge of fun accounting methods, procedures, and techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts in accounting system encompassing a number of diversified activities; ability to prepare financial settlements and report. Knowledge and understanding of the regulations, guides and precedents sufficient to interpret and apply them in a variety of accounting situations. Knowledge of the accounting system sufficient to flow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditures stages in order to trace discrepancies in the system. Knowledge of the Prompt Payment Act as it affects accounts. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Successful completion of a Tier-1 background investigation is required.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
