This is a Bargaining unit position represented by AFGE Local 3732.
As an Assistant or Associate Professor, you will be responsible for the development and conduct of educational courses and programs within the department, in particular teaching classes in Nautical Science. You will be responsible for academic mentoring of Midshipmen, carrying out research and scholarly activities and assuming a share of departmental and institutional service activities.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the education requirements for the position.
To qualify for this position, you must have:
Experience sailing on liquid cargo vessels (tanker) involved in the carriage of Dangerous Liquids in commercial trade and have served as Person in Charge (PIC) of Dangerous Liquid transfer with an active Tankerman PIC (DL) endorsement.
Experience operating Vapor Recovery Systems, Inert Gas Systems and Ballast Water Management Systems as required by current regulation.

Education
The educational requirements for this position includes a minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, International Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field. A Ph.D., or DBA is preferred.
