Duties

Help

If selected for this position, you will provide a variety of administrative support services to the United States Attorney's Office for the Central District of Illinois. You will receive formal and/or on-the-job training as needed. Duties include:

  • Make purchases within delegated monetary authority.
  • Track obligations and expenditures.
  • Provide support services in relation to space management, records, supplies and equipment, office security, internal controls, health and safety.
  • Administer a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication system changes.
  • Project and analyze space needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
  • Oversee building facility related projects.
  • Formulate and execute the support services budget.
  • Analyze office telecommunication needs relative to available technology.
  • Oversee property, equipment, and Fleet Vehicle inventories to include maintaining vehicle logs.
  • Backup Administrative Officer with reception, mail and visitor logs.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
  • Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
  • You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.

Qualifications

GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing the following types of duties: managing budget obligations and expenditures; reviewing and analyzing contract settlement proposals, audit reports, and approves contract payments; providing assistance with timekeeping and validating timesheets; arranging travel and providing final approval for travel; preparing and maintaining inventory logs for vehicles and property.
