The incumbent serves as an IT Specialist (System Administrator) (Digital Media Systems Support Group Specialist), planning, design, and integration of computer hardware and software systems required for United States International broadcasting.
Summary

The incumbent serves as an IT Specialist (System Administrator) (Digital Media Systems Support Group Specialist), planning, design, and integration of computer hardware and software systems required for United States International broadcasting.

Maintains and administers all digital media broadcast system in order to ensure operation for numerous broadcasting equipment needs.
Maintains and administers various account databases containing user accounts, categories, groups, permissions and application security.
Manages support and administration of all critical services provided by the Digital Management Division. This shall include the administration of the IDAPS(Integrated Digital Audio Production System) database, the HSM(Hierarchical Storage Management) Database and associated subsystems, and local/remote backup and disaster recovery subsystems; including the administration of various live assists and automated playback/record systems, automated file transcoding systems, third party music scheduling subsystems and computer image digital media software verifications.
Designs and maintains user load balancing among servers. Monitors the performance of all digital media broadcast systems and subsystems. Supports and troubleshoots Dalet video servers and related hardware and software running Galaxy Media Asset Management (MAM).Supports and troubleshoots servers and related software running the ScheduAll based Traffic Management System.
Provides the digital media broadcast system user community with a high level of technical operating system support; expert problem resolution; and technical liaison with operations and maintenance technicians within VOA and TSI Divisions; provides the entire user community and technical support staff with professional, technical training in all areas concerned with the servers and their operating systems and all relevant software, tools, and utilities.
Plans, develops, and implements future broadcast system deployments and upgrades into various areas. Works closely with TSI staff to resolve any internal computer system problems related to broadcast systems. In addition, a close relationship is needed to maintain proper Standard Network Access Protocol (SNAP)broadcast system client images.
Responsible for basic level awareness of the TSI's LAN configuration and operation to ensure mission critical service level agreements. Supports, enhances, and provides digital equipment information sessions to Help Desk staff as required.
This is a sensitive position. If selected, this position requires the completion of the SF-86.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the GS-13 or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
