Serve as a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist, Security Control Assessor, for the Cyber Protection, Brigade (CPB), Cyber Readiness Inspection Activity (CRIA).
Perform analysis, prepare reports on cybersecurity assessment results, and track the overall compliance of all sites with open findings.
Develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore information technology (IT) systems, services, and capabilities.
Supervise a group of employees performing work at the GG-12 or equivalent level. Provide administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
Organize various types of information with careful attention to detail, recognizing and dealing appropriately with confidential and sensitive information while separating fact from opinion and speculation.
Identify and integrate corrective actions to increase cybersecurity compliance within the DoD; author analysis reports addressing current and emerging cybersecurity issues specific to the site's CCRI.
Develop methods to monitor and measure risk, compliance, and assurance efforts. Provide recommendations for possible improvements and upgrades.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on an SSBI background investigation with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI). A Top Secret (SCI/SSBI) security clearance is required.
This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
This position is mission essential, subject to an on-call, 24x7 mission requirement and may be subject to rotating shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays in times of emergency or crisis.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by mastery of DoD and Army directives and STIGs governing the Defensed Information System Network and network security; knowledge of enterprise cyber security architecture; two years experience in security best practices, solutions, and methodologies for conducting advanced security assessments, to include manual assessments, malicious user testing; and two years experience in risk assessment process as it applies to national security involving network related certification and accreditation actions. The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.

(3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information.
(4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.

Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable training requirements/ certifications as directed by the Department of Defense, Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) over a twelve month period. Recertification, maintenance and new Security Readiness Review (SRR) training must be completed with six months. The date this personnel action is fully processed will serve as the effective date for this directive. Failure to meet requirements may result in reassignment or removal from the Federal service. IAW DISA's Command Cyber Readiness Inspection Training Guidelines will grant limited attempt(s)to successfully pass all required courses of training.
