Duties

Help

This position is located within the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP), Office of Preservation Initiatives.

At the full performance level (GG-14), the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Providing expert advice and assistance regarding: A) ACHP consideration of equity issues, including environmental justice issues, in its work to promote historic preservation, particularly in non-tribal underserved communities; and B) diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in the ACHP workplace.
2. Providing expert advice on equity and environmental justice matters, recommending and assisting with the establishment of new initiatives to better ensure the preservation of historic properties of significance to underserved communities.
3. Assisting in the creation, marketing, and teaching of courses to non-tribal, underserved communities about the Section 106 historic preservation review process, in coordination with the Office of Federal Agency Programs (OFAP).
4. Providing input to the Office of Native American Affairs (ONAA), as requested, on equity and environmental justice issues in the context of historic preservation issues concerning Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations.
5. Monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating proposed federal legislation, regulations, guidelines, and policies related to equity and environmental justice and developing recommendations on opportunities for the ACHP to advocate for a more meaningful role for underserved communities in preserving historic properties.

The ACHP has determined that the duties of this position are telework eligible. Telework arrangements are subject to ACHP policy..

Salary Information
GG-14 salary (Step 1, $132,368 - Step 10, $172,075) per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.

(1) Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GG-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. This experience is defined as 1) professional level work providing leadership, guidance, and/or direction on the execution of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) programs; 2) leadership in goal setting, planning, and establishing metrics and reporting protocols for DEIA; 3) providing technical advice to staff and senior executives on DEIA initiatives; and 4) demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, trust and credibility. (Must meet all)

If selected for this position, you will be extended a tentative offer of employment pending a satisfactory background check. Current Federal employees or individuals with an existing completed background investigation may not be required to undergo another background check; these will be handled on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the Bureau security office.
