This position is only open to Current Career/Career Conditional Employees of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in the Competitive service.; and Commissioned Corp Officers. PHS Commissioned Corps (CC) Officers will be referred as CC personnel and not as a candidate for conversion to a permanent federal appointment.
This position is a mission critical occupation and is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
As a HRSA Public Health Analyst at the GS-9 and GS-11 level, your major duties and responsibilities include:
Analyzing public health legislation, regulations, executive directives, and Departmental policy issues to determine their relevance to the organization's plans, programs, and activities.
Assisting with environmental scanning and policy research to identify public health strategies that may assist the organization in meeting one or more of its short and long-term goals.
Developing and maintaining initiatives to achieve the public health impact and advance the goals of the organization.
Serving as a point of contact for information about public health program evaluation activities and assists in program evaluation and the measurement of program outcomes.
Performing special projects to analyze and/or identify specific concerns or conditions of relevance and importance to the mission and activities of the center.

Basic Requirements for all Public Health Program Specialist Series, 0685 positions require that you demonstrate specialized experience in each of the following five competencies:
Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
