This position can be filled in the following VAOIG locations: Baltimore, MD; Decatur, GA; Kansas City, MO or Washington, D.C.

The incumbent of this position serves as the lead for operations support within the OIG Hotline Division. The responsibilities encompass quality assurance, training, follow-up, records management, and administrative assistance.

As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst (Operations Support Supervisor), you will:

  • Oversee management analysts who perform quality assurance reviews pertaining to the timely, efficient, and accurate receipt and review of complaints from veterans, employees, Government officials, and members of the general public about the programs and operations of Department of Veterans Affairs throughout the country
  • Identify deficiencies, anomalies, irregularities, and weaknesses in customer interactions through review and evaluation of case and contact files, call recordings, and live call monitoring to oversee analysis of problems and recommend solutions
  • Designs, develop and present training courses, training manuals and aids based on Hotline's needs, as identified through various assessment methods, then create and maintain the Hotline Master Training Schedule
  • Interpret guidelines and develop and maintain work center processes and standard operating procedures related to contact and case management
  • Develop strategies, plans, schedules, and conduct or oversee projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of substantive programs and work operations

Qualifications

You must meet the following specialized experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:
  • Analyzing and evaluating issues related to operations, policies and procedures; AND
  • Ensuring organizational or program compliance with quality standards, applicable laws or regulations; AND
  • Researching issues and recommending courses of action to management; AND
  • Coordinating assignments, work, or tasks of subordinate team members or employees.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
